Today, in the rush and press and crush of the holiday season, we want to take a brief moment to say cheers to you, Mamas. Because this time of year comes with a unique set of challenges, and you’re getting it done.
To the moms who’ve spent the last few weeks staying up late to make the holidays magical.
To the moms who are working hard to meet year-end goals at the office, and maybe wish they had a little more time to make the holidays magical.
To the moms who have budgeted and done without and stretched every dollar to make the holidays magical.
To the moms who remembered to move the elf every night.
To the moms who forgot to move the elf a few times (OK, a lot of times).
To the moms who would never let an elf get within 500 feet of their house.
To the moms who built Pinterest-worthy gingerbread houses.
To the moms who built Trader Joe’s kit gingerbread houses.
To the moms who didn’t have time to build a gingerbread house because they have about eighteen higher-priority items on their to-do lists (that’s us!).
To the moms on their fourth cup of coffee this morning (that’s us again!).
To the moms who currently have a cold, the flu, bronchitis, and are getting it done anyway.
To the moms who’ve been shopping for the perfect gifts for months.
To the moms who plan on ordering a dozen more gifts tonight on Amazon Prime.
To the single moms, the divorced moms, the moms for whom the holidays are a little (or a lot) emotionally tricky.
To the moms who miss their own moms so very much this time of year.
To the moms who have lost pregnancies, infants, children. Our hearts grieve for you in particular at this time of year.
To the moms who are our friends, our confidants, the people who help us get through the days and weeks and years and challenges and trials of life, over and over again.
To the moms who celebrate with us, who laugh with us, who are always willing to lend an ear.
To the moms who love their kids so much that sometimes they can hardly breathe for the weight of it.
Cheers to all of you. To all of us. We are so grateful to have you with us. We raise our glasses to you. We send our love, our internet hugs, and our wishes of peace and joy to you today.
